If Detroit builds it, who will buy?
Monday, December 8, 2008 17:06I have been following some of the coverage on television about the auto industry bailout and feel that there is one important point that has not been covered. That is, who will buy all of the autos and trucks that the auto makers will be building? If so many people have lost jobs, homes and personal wealth how will they be able to afford to buy new vehicles?
It seems that it is a 2-part equation here, in order to build and sell one has to have buyers, else what will be done with all of the new autos? The government needs to look at ways in which people will be able to have an income and get the credit that is needed in order to buy these vehicles or else Detroit will become known as the "City of a million cars", since they will all be stacked up in rows due to lack of being sold.
